After photo of a client’s home after just moving her furniture around. So much better!
Okay, here’s the idea. We can really shift our personal environments and love them, without spending a lot of money. Yes, it’s really true. I’ve had the experience with some clients who call me in with the idea that they need to buy new couches, chairs and lots of new things in order to change their living spaces and be happy in them. Not so, says me! And I can prove it….
One of my client’s living rooms (in the above photo) wasn’t very liveable or happily feng shuied for that matter when I first arrived. When I asked her how she felt about the space (prior to moving things around) she couldn’t really put her finger on it, but it just didn’t feel right. From a feng shui perspective the porch door (you can see it in the photo) couldn’t open all the way. It was blocked by a piece of furniture. That translates into blocks in our lives. Open it up, baby and let the good energy flow!
Ah, now it’s cozy and very inviting. Deep breath.
As you can see, the room is square and we humans tend to square out our rooms even more with our furniture. That’s an imbalance and most of us are tuned into how it just doesn’t feel right, but don’t know what to do.
Well, if you angle pieces in such a way as to create circular shapes and movement, suddenly, the energy feels so much better! Oh, happy joy. Doesn’t it feel conversational? All the pieces are talking to each other. Shall we join in?
One last thing. Notice the pattern on the rug. Before we moved it, the pattern (what looks like wings) opened up to the porch area. Not good from a feng shui perspective. It’s better if the wings open up to the inside of her home, bringing in positive energy and also directing the flow into the space. After we changed it, it felt soooo much better. Now, the movement on the rug guided the flow to the next room and connected with it. Yeah, baby, now we’re talkin’.
Simple, yet very powerful! Questions? Comments? Post them here.
