the best trade ever and I got a boyfriend out of it

Photo of me blogging in my living room taken by Philip Morgan.

I’ve always felt that bartering (or trading services with another instead of paying with money) was the most sustainable way to do business. Since that concept hasn’t really hit mainstream capitalism yet, I try to infuse it into my life at every opportunity. Fortunately, local Portland culture embraces the idea and that’s how many of us live our lives.

Some time ago, I traded design services for a professional photography session for the new look on Planet Pink n’ Green coming very soon! I was impressed with the talent of the photographer, Philip Morgan who has the keenest eye for detail. Bonus: In the organic process of things, we became a couple. Talk about synergy and good feng shui. My love area’s been doing me right.

I love this photo (on right) for the symbology illustrated. The gold medallion with the Chinese symbol “fu” means good fortune. I feel rich standing by it. The hanging glass of the chandelier reminds me of my hair and is symbolic of the water element associated with good flow and money. The harmony achieved is in the marriage of the feminine chandelier hanging over the masculine wood table. The photo captures the perfect balance of yin and yang.

Thank-you Philip. Your work rocks and so do you.

Thank-you Linda. It’s amazing what happens when we least expect it. It’s all about loving oneself first and opening up to all the possibilities. I heard you just found a new love in your life. Did you manifest it?
