sustainable luxury in a beautifully designed chair
By on May 31st, 2008

This fabulous eco-chair is made out of re-used coffee bags and designed by architect Milan Heger.
The love-bug just hit me hard once again after I was introduced to this chair. It exudes modern design with an ethnic glow. It’s also 100% green and comfy cozy.

I asked Milan Heger about his inspiration and the sustainable qualities of the design. Here’s what he had to say:
“This chair came about when I was invited to take part in a competition for a design show at the ‘Drop City Gallery‘ in Seattle. I was sketching and drinking coffee, and the coffee idea made its way into the design.”

He goes on to say, “Every piece of material on that chair is either re-used (coffee bags), recycled (environmental low-emissions foam) and salvaged (metal legs). These materials are all bio-degradable. The design is a clean modernist expression and the seat offers comfortable ergonomic positioning of the body.”
Right now it’s a one of a kind piece. Heger is currently seeking distribution and/or licensing opportunities.
You’ve got our support. Keep up the fabulous work.

Linda, Two of those would look fabulous in place of the piano in your living room. I totally agree. I want one too! Wouldn’t that look beautiful in my bedroom upstairs?
