sunday in buenos aires

The San Telmo Antiques Market in Buenos Aires, Argentina is the place to be on Sunday afternoons. Blocks and blocks of cobblestone streets are closed to anything but foot traffic and the place pulses with the life of a city that loves to eat, dance, sing and shop.
You can spend the day selecting eco-chic antique treasures for your home, catching a tango band on the street corner, sipping a tiny cup of espresso while the locals pass you by, attending mass in a beautiful cathedral or dining in a fabulous Italian restaurant overlooking the center of it all, the Plaza Dorrego.
On my recent visit we only had one Sunday in Buenos Aires so, naturally, we did it all! While it all was incredible, my favorite part was the colorful antique stalls, full of so many good things I wanted to take them all home with me.
Instead I brought back these photos which capture the essence of San Telmo.
What do you think?
