Sometimes summers are a hard time to be an artist. Sometimes I yearn to be in my studio but the small people in my life yearn for me more.

Today, I had to switch gears and give up studio time. So, Anie and I set Fairy Tables. Fairies adore the attention and usually leave special gifts for later…beautiful flowers on a doorstep, extra honey in the jar, special scents when you’re falling asleep.

Here’s how you can set a fairy table:

First, get your best fairy face on. Kids are really good at it. If at first you can’t make a fairy face, just copy your kid.

Then, collect all sorts of interesting things from the garden like petals, rocks, shells, twigs…anything that would look delightful to a fairy.

Then take a smooth flat rock and fashion a table using twigs for legs. Dress the table as you wish.

The fairies are pretty happy with anything you offer.

Usually, you get so inspired that you can’t help but build a fairy bower. Some are flowery and some are woodsy.

Just use whatever is available and let yourself go. The fairies LOVE you for it and make sure that lots of magical things happen for you!
