ross lovegrove on sustainable cities

Ross Lovegrove, an industrial designer who lives in London, and who has been guest speaker at TED, muses on sustainable design in cities across the globe. You might remember a PPnG post on Ross Lovegrove’s bamboo bike.
My favorite part of the video? Easy. Ross talks about how certain (slower moving) vehicles in the city of Cairo, Egypt wear skirts to hide their wheels. The perception is that with the skirt, the vehicle tends to move in a much more elegant way. That translates to a softer energy that is beneficial to the city’s inhabitants, aesthetically and energetically.
I love it.
