roof goes green in manhattan

This bit of lovely news comes via Inhabitat: Another green roof to admire, this time in Manhattan, New York and it’s much needed, thank-you.
According to the article, “Architect Enrique Norten and his NYC-based firm, TEN ARQUITECTOS, are in the midst of building a mixed-use high-rise in Hell’s Kitchen called Clinton Park, which will provide some much-needed green space to concrete jungle on the west side.”
The building, when finished, will look like the above (and below). The cascading green roofline in Feng Shui is akin to a water feature, and feels very much in the flow. Water symbolizes money and that will be a good thing for the businesses in the building, one of which will be a green market.
The architects also took extra care in the design by making sure not to block views of a near-by park.
Above image of the building at night is just beautiful. May this type of environmentally conscious design continue. That and green roofs rock.
