A popular post that’s just friggin’ amazing.
Feast your eyes on the art work of Julian Beever, affectionately nicknamed, “Pavement Picasso”.
Julian (shown above) is an English artist who is famous for his anamorphic art on the pavements of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium.
Beever gives an amazing illusion to his drawings, so that the objects appear to be three dimensional rather than flat as they actually are. For example, that little boy in the above photo is standing on flat pavement.
St. Nick reading mail with Rudolph. It’s hard to believe that is a flat surface and must confuse many who pass by.
Everything is fake, including the hose and the water. Very clever.
The 3D aspect to Julian’s work came much later while he was working in Brussels, ‘I decided to get into 3D after seeing the effect of tiles being removed from the street, and later trying to recreate the sense of depth in a drawing.’ Source: users.skynet.be/J.Beever
Apparently, people avoid the above hole.
New Orleans tribute.
This one is my favorite. What a gifted and extraordinary artist.
