The first McDonald’s restaurant to be Feng Shuied
Now, I know I’m about to talk about one of the most notorious eco-abusers on the planet but hey, we all have to start somewhere right? What am I talking about? Well, McDonald’s just had their first restaurant Feng Shuied and of course it’s in Southern California.
Check this out. For those of you who don’t know, Feng Shui is the ancient Asian art of design that creates balance and harmony in a space. In other words, it is an organic practice (that alone qualifies it as eco-chic) that works with the energy or ch’i to make a room, home, office, garden, etc. feel simply yummy and fabulous.
Here are more details on the Feng Shui at McDonald’s as reported by L.A. Eater,
“The company is redesigning hundreds of restaurants to encourage customers to hang around like they do at Starbucks. We’re so lucky: The first McDonald’s in the nation to get feng-shui-ed is in Hacienda Heights—off the 60 towards Diamond Bar—where “earth tones and exotic fauna” will replace the former Hi-C red and electric yellow palate. There will also be a McCafe, an upscale coffee bar, and exterior water elements symbolizing “life and relaxation.” What’s next, a Wendy’s yoga room?”
Okay, so we know McDonald’s is not going organic quite yet but I think this is a good start. Feng Shui will bring in more positive energy and that infusion of love is just what McDonald’s and others like them so desperately need. What do you think?
