gratitude on earth day

As I made my way down the stairs this morning to prepare a cup of tea, I thought about Earth Day and what it meant to me. On the one hand, I agree with Jill Fehrenbacher, founder and editor in chief of Inhabitat in her observation that every day is really earth day, particularly right now with our global crisis at hand….and I agree–today is no token day. No green washing here.

On the other hand. the media attention to the environment on this particular day can be positive in educating those of us who really are not connected to the plight of mother earth. Even if we raise the awareness of one person, we have contributed to the healing process.

On a more personal note, one year ago today I broke up with my boyfriend. It’s not that I planned it that way, but I did note the symbology. It’s really one of the best decisions I have ever made and I am reminded that mother earth was supporting me in every step.

Most importantly, Earth Day serves as a reminder of all the abundance in my life and I am grateful. Thank-you to all my beautiful friends and loved ones who continue to surround me with light. I know I’m on the right path and it’s a committed one.

And thank-YOU for supporting Planetpinkngreen.

Hey, by the way, what are you doing for Earth Day?

Earth Day should be everyday, and thank you for cluing us in! With planetpinkngreen, we’ll all be reminded that we should treat our Mother Earth like the beauty that she is. I bathed in the sun on Earth Day and it was wonderful!
