Playing the drums (I think?) at Andrea’s Cha Cha Club
In the holiday spirit of eco-spontaneity (which by the way, happens to fall in the “fun” category of extreme self-care), I decided to dedicate this blog entry to a spontaneous salsa dancing moment.
Thursday, at about 10:00pm, as I was just about to cozy in for the evening, I got a call from my darling friends, Josh and Jen who proposed an evening of spontaneous salsa hip shaking at Andrea’s Cha Cha Club right here in Portland, Oregon. The fabulous band, Cubaneo started at 11:00pm. “Hmmm,” I thought. That just sounded like too much fun to pass up. Yeah, baby, let’s do it!
I had such a fun evening! I got to move my hips and release tension in a very sustainable and renewable way…Gotta love it.
I highly recommend getting out of your defined schedule right now and doing something random…like going Salsa dancing….You might actually enjoy it and laugh your head off doing it.
One warning, however. If you happen to meet a Cuban guy named Elvis wearing a gold jacket, be prepared to move your ass. He made Jen and I dizzy from all the twirling.
Gracias, Elvis. Nos mareabas…
I love you Jen!

I’m not a professional musician, but that appears to be a very nontraditional conga drum stance.
