Cindy Crawford Going Green…
By on April 6th, 2008
Cindy Crawford is currently helping to promote the use of filtered tap water….
Ok, so the former supermodel is no stranger to controversy. We all know she participated in fur ad campaigns, which is really just plain unethical, disgusting and gross….However, her current project is interesting and from an environment perspective, very positive. According to Ecorazzi, “PUR Water Filtration is partnering up with the model to help promote the use of filtered tap water and reduce consumption of the bottled kind.”
The campaign, “which is launching this May, is called “Thirsty for Change†and will include Crawford designing her own eco-chic reusable water bottle — with all proceeds from the sales going towards Children’s Safe Drinking Water; a program which is dedicated to providing safe drinking water to impoverished children around the world.” Source:: Ecorazzi.
That means she is supporting a cause that helps to provide the poorest of children with clean drinking water. That gets our vote.
Right now, clean water is a serious issue. Millions of people around the globe, including women and children do not have access to it. Can you imagine that? Not me….We humans are made up of 70% water. We can go for several days and sometimes months without food but cannot survive long without water. And guess what? It’s becoming more and more of a precious resource.
If you haven’t already guessed, clean drinking water is currently a favorite issue of mine right now. I’ll be interviewing people in leadership positions who have solutions. As always, I’ll share it here. As far as me personally, I will be installing a dual flush toilet in my bathroom to save on water…(I am saving up for it!)
I drink filtered tap water and reuse my glass bottle. I take it everywhere with me and save a ton on NOT having to stop at a local store to buy bottled water when I am thirsty. That also keeps plastic out of landfills. Consciousness is the key. We have the ability to change and we can make a difference.
Cindy, this is a good move. May you continue to influence others around you….and please don’t wear or support fur….it’s not green…

Yay Cindy! We need more influential people to be green. Check out these eco-chic Stainless Steel water bottles at http://www.mysigg.com/ They’re so cute and don’t emit those toxins that many plastic nalgene bottles do.

Oh! now she is at that stage of her life, that she can just deliver this type of social messages, but she was really hot in 1980’s and her life was also full of excitements, as I got a real picture of her past life here http://www.octanmen.com/articleDetail/426/cindy-crawford.htm
