Ross Lovegrove, an industrial designer who lives in London, and who has been guest speaker at TED, muses on sustainable design in cities across the globe. You might remember a PPnG post on Ross Lovegrove’s bamboo bike.
My favorite part of the video? Easy. Ross talks about how certain (slower moving) vehicles in the city of Cairo, Egypt wear skirts to hide their wheels. The perception is that with the skirt, the vehicle tends to move in a much more elegant way. That translates to a softer energy that is beneficial to the city’s inhabitants, aesthetically and energetically.
This video clip put the biggest smile on my face this morning. Sometimes it’s about going back to being a 3 year old again where pink furry things that sing are pure joy. I love you Jen.
P.S. According to the New York Times, “TerraCycle has struck a deal with Kraft Foods to turn its used packaging into purses, backpacks and other merchandise.” That’s hot. What an enormous diversion of waste into the landfill.
Bucky Fuller exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art on view June 26 - September 21, 2008. If you live in New York or are going to be there during that time, check it out. Jen?
Chocolate by its nature is sexy, yes. However, add the exotic ingredients, passion and love that Vosges Haut Chocolates puts into their line of other-worldy delights and I seriously have to start fanning myself. That or take a cold shower.
My friend Linda recently turned me on to this fabulous company. Here is the owner, Katrina Markoff sharing her influences, her passions and philosophy on life. Talk about following your bliss. This woman embodies the idea of connecting to that which we love and expressing it in the work we do as our life’s purpose. That’s exactly what she did and the result was absolute success.
And this I love. As stated on their website, “Our facility is powered by 100% renewable energy and has been approved as an organic manufacturing facility.”
Not just a sexy gourmet chocolate company but a sexy gourmet chocolate company dedicated to all things green. That makes them even hotter.
