budgeting with abundance in mind liberates the soul

I was here in this executive office, yesterday going over my new budget.

Each time I make the trip to downtown Portland’s Morgan Stanley to visit my dear financial adviser (and VP of Morgan Stanley) Rupa Jack, I always have that feeling I will walk away with more than that which I stepped in with. And I always do. Here’s what I mean…

There is something empowering about talking about money, without fear and letting yourself be guided by a trusted financial expert who also happens to be a philanthropist. Well, for me, that’s you Rupa Jack. You’ve got some serious money energy swimming in your dna. Thank-you for officially putting me on a budget and for planting healthy seeds that are already sprouting. It’s very exciting! Ok, so at first I had my freak-out moment but as I walked back to my car I just surrendered and had this sense of abundance wash over me, like I was removing internal blocks. And I am….

Budgeting can be scary but it’s also a step towards freedom. It’s consciously aligning ourselves with money energy in a positive way, not only to serve our needs, but also to open doors for dreams to manifest. Mine is happening right now on this very planet, and I am deeply grateful.

Amen! About 4 months ago I put my business on a budget, and my husband and I commited ourselves to actually following our household budget - and imagine this - we are now seeing more and more financial abundance!

But it was more than a budget that helped create abundance. A perspective shift played a big part as well.

I used to look far down the road and see scarcity (”we won’t be able to cover x,y,z expenses”) which somehow prompted over spending in the present. It seems perverse that I would have done that but I see now [aha moment follows] that it was my way of consciously creating the reality of scarcity that I had envisioned [the choir sings as I soak up what I just wrote!].

Now I simply ask myself to make daily choices that are aligned with my goals and values. That is all I can do. If I do only that, I am doing plenty, I feel aligned with myself, and I feel good!

Happily, the outcome has been that I no longer manifest a reality of scarcity, rather I manifest a reality of abundance. And I did that even when I didn’t see how it could be possible.

Now I KNOW abundance is possible, even if my gremlins are sure that it is not!!!!

To bring this back to the beginning - creating a budget - I realize now that the budget is the financial blueprint of my goals and values. It makes daily, mundane choices easier to make.[Ahhh... another litte aha!]

Thanks for the post! I learned a lot about my journey in the process of posting this reply!!!

    Best, Erin
