Iowa hybrid school buses are part of a study on the performance of these eco-vehicles.

Okay, so it’s already eco-friendly to just ride the bus. You know, save fuel, zero emissions when we can keep cars off the road. So when I heard this latest and greatest eco-news, I was impressed.

As reported by NewEnergyandfuel.com “Iowa State University is studying the performance of hybrid school buses on behalf of Advanced Energy, a non profit based in Raleigh, N.C. The Iowa buses are two of 19 scattered across 11 states.”

That’s a really good start…and as we all know, change starts with one step….

This part is awesome…”The analysis is seeking to discover the energy and environmental performance of hybrid drives to save fuel costs for school districts. The buses are equipped with emissions monitors and provisioned with download capabilities from the engine computers for fuel efficiency readings.” NewEnergyandfuel.com

I hear the ride is really sweet. As more hybrid school buses spread to different schools in the country, think of all that eco-love helping to heal the planet….and of course reduce a lot of crap unloaded into the atmosphere.
