being green starts with self-care

Me and Carlito in front of the fire. This cat is pure love…yummy and super cuddly.
Being green is synonymous with self-care….And since many of us are cooking at a high temperature right now during the grand holiday season, let’s kick in some extreme self-care to balance it out.
This post is dedicated to loving thoughts and peaceful images….I invite you to join in with your comments.

The image Saraswati, (pictured at left) Hindu Goddess of Creativity invites me to relax and breathe deeply. I use free wallpaper images like this one on my desktop. Click here to view more.
Another free wallpaper available at Sanatan Society. Ganesh (pictured at right) is the Hindu God - Remover of Obstacles. That’s powerful and calming to me all at the same time. And he is very beautiful.
Be kind and loving toward yourself. I love the words calm, love, relax, breathe, peace, harmony, gratitude…(jump in anytime you like)….
Another self-greening, stress releasing tool (I find helpful)….and it’s free…subscribe to the daily grateful word of the day. Here are some of my recent favorites:
1) Eyes see only light, ears hear only sound, but a listening heart perceives meaning.
–David Steindl-Rast; A Listening Heart
2) To meet everything and everyone through stillness instead of mental noise is the greatest gift you can offer to the universe. - Eckhart Tolle; Stillness Speaks
3) Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes. –Carl Jung
4) Everything comes to us that belongs to us if we create the capacity to receive it. –Rabindranath Tagor
5) There can be progress only by shattering your understanding to allow a greater understanding to come through. –Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan; Alchemical Wisdom
6) The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.-Eleanor Roosevelt
I suddenly became very calm…..nap time…I’ll be back…

Thank you for the inspiration. With the holiday season in full force, a whole houseful of in laws on the way, and starting a new clinic - I do like the idea of self-greening. I really do need some sustainability right about now and look forward to catching a little me time in the chaos.
