It definitely was challenging to choose the second place prize winner of PPnG’s recent contest, “What Makes You Earth Friendly” but in the end Jennae Petersen of Green You Decor (shown at left) slid right in. The website (which was her official entry) is a one stop shopping place for all things eco-friendly and beautiful. As a former interior designer, I understand all the love and hard work that goes into gathering resources that care about the environment and humanity. Here’s more from Jennae,

‘The whole inspiration for my blog was the concept of being both green and fabulous. That is my mantra and what I tell people literally all day, every day. Being green is easy to do once we become conscious of the choices we make every day.’

I agree. It’s all about choice. Thank-you Jennae for doing a great job at providing many fabulous eco-options in the vast world of design and making it easier for us to find cool stuff.  It’s important to continue to promote products and manufacturers that do business sustainably with less waste and more consciousness.

The second prize is a fabulous wall hanging Rajastani work of art (shown at right) made out of remnant Saris and other Northwestern Indian textiles, donated by my friends at Kush Carpets in Portland, Oregon. It’s a stunning piece with a retail value of $120.  Every time I walk into the Kush Showroom, I want to wrap myself in their beautiful hand knotted rugs and I start symbolically salivating at the mouth. We were so inspred by Kush’s products and philosophy that we took our camera and went on a video visit to the store. You can watch the video by clicking here.
